Every child is assigned a group, a coloured wristband and a bib so we always know who is where, and who is in whose care.
What you'll receive
All children will be given a coloured wristband and bib on arrival. These identify their group and help leaders keep track of everyone throughout the week.
When to wear bands & bibs
Wristbands and bibs must be worn whenever children are taking part in organised water-based activities, or are otherwise under the control of their group leaders.
Using the tally board
When a child is under parent/carer control, their wristband is hooked on their named hook on the tally board. Once the child has changed into wet gear and is back under the control of their group leader, the band is collected from the board. At the end of an activity, bands are returned to the tally board. Other than Youth Week team members, only the child themselves may take their band on or off the board.
Leaving the group
Children must let their group leader know if they are leaving the group for any reason — for example, to visit the toilet.
End-of-activity safety check
If a child's band is not back on the tally board once activities have finished, the parents/carers will be contacted to confirm the child is safe.
Lost bands
If a child loses their wristband, please contact the Safety Officer as soon as possible so a replacement can be issued.
